Mary Poppins Theatre Campaign
This campaign began with a primary poster and expanded into a campaign with a storefront, bus, and playbill all advertising Mary Poppins on Broadway. After seeking inspiration through theater posters online and rewatching the musical, I hoped to display the magic of the show Mary Poppins. I first created vector illustrations of my reference images, brought them into Photoshop, and used the brushes to shade and texturize them. I designed a poster that illustrates Mary Poppins with recognizable elements, yet an uncommon representation of the show. This design concept shows the surprises that Mary Poppins brings into the Banks family by having a spoonful of sugar, a bird, a kite, and blocks coming out of her magical carpet bag. The colorful contents exhibits the vibrancy and fun she evokes in their lives. The softer illustration style displays a storybook-like quality and the additional promotional materials allowed me to explore a more dynamic layout.
