Spring into Summer CD

As a part of my Production class, I designed CD single packaging for “Spring into Summer” by Lizzie McAlpine. This design reflects the feeling of changing seasons and fleeting moments of life that pass too fast. It works alongside the lyrics of the song that mention seasons, water, running, and taking photos. I utilized physical painting to provide continuity between each panel and abstract the overall imagery. To pair with the memory aspect and reference scrapbooks, I used handwriting, scraps of paper, and photographs in the liner notes. This along with the collaged figures on the packaging give texture and balance well between the outside and the liner notes. The photography has a film grain and fuzziness that pair with the abstracted figures and environment in the outside packaging to show the passing of time and nostalgia.
